12.00-12.05 Opening of the conference. Welcome speech by M. Bikbov, Director of Ufa Eye Research Institute, Doctor of Medical Science, professor
12.05-12.50 The lecture "High myopia and glaucoma: histological and clinical aspects" will highlight the issues of early diagnosis of glaucoma in patients suffering from high myopia.
The author will present clinical examples with an analysis of clinical and morphological features in patients with glaucoma, which will help ophthalmologists in early detection and treatment. The presentation involves the active participation of listeners in the discussion and diagnosis based on practical examples.
Speaker: Jost B. Jonas, Professor of the Medical Faculty Mannheim of the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg; Professor of the Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology, Basel (Switzerland)
12.50-13.35 Lecture "New prospects for the effectiveness of glaucoma surgery in the treatment of drugs without preservatives" will highlight the issues of drug topical treatment of glaucoma, which involves long-term instillation of antihypertensive drugs, often in the form of their combinations. The lecture will focus on an extremely important aspect of this therapy - reducing the amount of preservatives, whose contact with the eye surface often causes local adverse events. Eliminating or minimizing the side effects accompanying glaucoma therapy is one of the important ways to increase patient compliance, which means it will allow them to preserve their visual functions longer and maintain quality of life.
Speaker:Alexander Kuroedov, Head of the Ophthalmological Department of P.V. Mandryk Central Military Clinical Hospital, Professor of the Ophthalmology Department of the Medical Faculty of Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Doctor of Medical Science (Moscow)
13.35-14.15The mini-lecture "Selective laser trabeculoplasty and hypotensive therapy: how to combine it correctly" will highlight the main advantages of selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), related to the second line of glaucoma treatment, with insufficient effectiveness of anti-glaucoma drugs. The problem of undesirable side effects of anti-glaucoma drops due to the need for lifelong therapy determines the relevance of SLT, Data will be presented on the comparative effectiveness of SLT and antihypertensive therapy in relation to indications. contraindications, complications, quality of life of patients and economic aspects.
Speaker: Elena Karlova - Doctor of Medical Science, Deputy Chief Physician for Innovation and Technological Development of Eroshevsky Samara Regional Clinical Ophthalmological Hospital
14.15-14.55 In the mini-lecture "Organization of ophthalmological care for patients with glaucoma during the Covid-19 pandemic", the issues of the impact of this disease on patients and ophthalmologists will be highlighted, as well as specific, effective recommendations for the examination and treatment of glaucoma patients in outpatient and inpatient practice will be given.
Speaker: Alexander Babushkin- Doctor of Medical Science, Head of the Department of Scientific Research of Ufa Eye Research Institute
14.55-15.35 The mini-lecture "Glaucoma Surgery: a historical digression" will highlight the formation of glaucoma surgery as such. The technique of penetrating and non-penetrating operations proposed in its original version differed significantly from the one adopted today. A large number of modifications of these operations have been proposed, affecting almost every stage of the operation (from the incision of the conjunctiva to the method of suturing the scleral and conjunctival flap and other elements of the operation. Optimization elements will be presented with the help of new technical capabilities, including the use of cytostatics, viscoelastics, drains and non-penetrating surgery.
Speaker: Ilnur Khusnitdinov - Doctor of Medical Science, Head of the I Microsurgical Department of Ufa Eye Research Institute
15.35-15.55 In a mini-lecture "The effectiveness of combined surgical interventions for cataract and glaucoma using various anti-glaucoma operations" the results of a new partially fistulizing operation for combined surgical treatment of POAG and complicated cataract in comparison with penetrating and non-penetrating anti-glaucoma interventions will be presented, and clear indications for its use in clinical practice will be determined.
Speaker: Olga Orenburkina - Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of Lens Surgery and Intraocular Correction of Ufa Eye Research Institute,
15.55-16.15 The mini-lecture "Population based studies of glaucoma: results and prospects" will highlight the data obtained from various studies of this kind in the world, including controlled Ural Eye and Medical Study in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Epidemiological characteristics of the prevalence of glaucoma in various regions of the world and data on the highest correlations of this disease with factors such as increased intraocular pressure, age, residence in the city, the length of the axis of the eyeball, concomitant systemic pathology, etc. will be presented in a comparative aspect.
Speaker: Timur Gilmanshin - Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of Macula Pathology of Ufa Eye Research Institute
16.15-16.35 In the mini-lecture "OCT and OCT angiography in the assessment of glaucoma progression", the place of modern technologies of retina and optic nerve imaging, namely optical coherence tomography (OCT) in the diagnosis of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) will be presented. In particular, its advantage over perimetry, which has long been the "gold standard", will be discussed. The report will also present information about a new research method - optical coherence tomography-angiography (OCT-A), which allows to get new information about the anatomy and physiology of microcirculation of the retina and optic disc.
Speaker:Svetlana Totskova - Doctor of the Department of Functional Diagnostics of Ufa Eye Research Institute
16.35-16.50 Discussion
